P.A. Hollingworth & Co is proud to be a long established family run company based in East Kent. We provide electrical services to homeowners, as well as commercial customers throughout Kent. We were first established in 1979, and Billy Hollingworth, Son of the Managing Director, manages our current team of electricians. Our aim is to provide the highest level of customer services and professionalism, from your initial phone call through to us completing your project, and we endeavour to leave a positive impression with all our clients.
Communication
Your call will be answered by our experienced and helpful office staff based near Sandwich in Kent. You’ll always be able to speak to a real person between 7.30am and 4.30pm Monday to Friday. You are also welcome to come along to our offices and meet us in person to discuss your project or any problems you may have.
We understand the frustration of leaving messages on answer phones and people never ringing you back. You won’t find that with P A Hollingworth & Co – if our lines are busy, or we are closed, you can leave a message, and we assure you we will ring you back the next time we are open or available. We will respond in a timely fashion to emails too, so whichever method of communication suits you – we are here ready to respond.
Once we have agreed on a quotation and a convenient time to carry out your work, we will appoint a foreman/supervisor who will work with you to avoid mistakes and to facilitate any changes you may wish to make. This level of attention to detail ensures that the electricians working on your project, fully understand your needs which in turn helps reduce problems throughout your project. All foreman/supervisors and managers at PA Hollingworth & Co, are qualified to a high level of Health and Safety, Police checked (DRB), as are all our staff, and recruited with customer services skills in mind, so you can be assured of an excellent electrical job completed safely, legally and respectfully.
Electrical Staff
We directly employ all our electricians, and only occasionally need to work with sub-contractors, if our workload is too big for our team. We are proud of the fact that several of our staff have worked with us for many years and we have a successful record of retaining tradesmen and apprentices alike. We often receive letters and emails from customers complimenting us, and our electricians, on their exemplary behaviour and workmanship. We are all very proud of our company and the workmanship and the service we provide. However, it would be ridiculous to suggest we get everything right 100 per cent of the time, but we continue to try very hard to succeed in all areas of our business, as often as possible, and improve where needed and would welcome your feedback.

You can rest assured of, not only our quality of workmanship but of our commitment to you as a customer. We are fully insured against damage to your property whilst we are carrying out any work, and any injury to you, your family or members of the public affected by our operations. We have an exemplary record in Health and Safety and continue to direct a large proportion of our budget to continued training in all matters of safety and workmanship.
Payment
Our payment terms are 4 weeks in arrears. No money up front or deposits, you pay every 4 weeks for the work we have carried out so far, or on completion, whichever comes first. Any interim valuation after 4 weeks will be supported by a detailed breakdown of work carried out in the period for your information.
Changes or Additional Work
We will, of course, carry out the work that you requested and we quoted for, but sometimes your needs change, or you would like additional work done whilst we are there. In these situations, we will always provide you with an additional quote and get written consent from you to carry out the extra work. You can be assured that you won’t get any nasty surprise invoices from us. Sometimes changes can also incur financial savings, and these too will also be clearly indicated in writing to you.
